Signal Wire
Copperweld’s Tracer wire product line of CCS conductors provide Tracer Wire and cable manufacturers with the strongest, most reliable medium for water, gas, electrical and telecom facility locating.
Copperweld’s CCS copper skin is perfectly suited to efficiently propagate the range of RF signals used by utility locating equipment, while providing a steel core with exceptional tensile strength, resiliency and corrosion-resistance.
Copperweld CCS Tracer Wire typically serves the following design applications:
Our Tracer Wire is most commonly available in solid, bare 21% CCS diameters of 10 to 24 AWG, offered as annealed or hard-drawn, with high-strength or extra high-strength tempers. Copperweld offers a wide variety of reel sizes, material and options.
Copperweld's durable embedded tracer wire is ideal for optical fiber cable and conduit/inner-duct manufacturers to integrate a reliable locate feature into their products.
Copperweld’s coaxial central core product line of CCS and CCA conductors provide coaxial cable manufacturers with the strongest, most reliable medium for specialty coaxial cable designs.
Copperweld’s CCS and CCA copper skin is perfectly suited to efficiently propagate RF and high-speed broadband signals used by cable, telecommunications and cellular service providers, as well as CCTV premise surveillance and data centers. The steel core of CCS provides exceptional tensile strength, flexibility and resiliency, during the manufacturing process and end-user application.
Copperweld’s CCS and CCA cores typically serve the following coaxial design applications:
Our coaxial cores are most commonly available in solid, bare CCS diameters of 7 to 24 AWG, offered as annealed or hard-drawn, with 21%, 30% and 40% conductivities. CCA cores are commonly available in 3 to 13 AWG diameters, offered as annealed or hard-drawn, with 10% and 15% copper volumes. Copperweld offers a wide variety of reel sizes, material and options.
Copperweld's central conductor for specialty coaxial cable ensures cable manufacturers maintain efficient propagation of RF and high-speed data transmission.
Copperweld’s Detonation Wire product line of CCS and CCA conductors provide detonation wire and cable manufacturers with the strongest, most reliable medium for mine-blasting, demolition, pyrotechnics and fireworks.
Copperweld’s CCS and CCA copper skin is perfectly suited to efficiently and reliably transport low-voltage signals to detonators and primers of the application. CCS provides a steel core with exceptional tensile strength, resiliency and elongation, for “down-hole”application and CCA provides a low-resistance option for surface/lead wire applications.
Designed for optimal reliability, Copperweld offers CCS and CCA wire options for detonation wire manufacturers. Our CCS wires offer superior strength and elongation. Our CCA wires offer lower resistance to reduce voltage drop.
Copperweld’s CCA Thermostat Wire provides thermostat cable manufacturers with a flexible, low-resistance and cost-effective alternative to copper wire.
Due to upsizing requirements of UL 13, Class 2 for CCA in HVAC/thermostat applications, 16 AWG CCA is perfectly suitable, as an alternative to 18 AWG copper thermostat wire. The up-sized CCA provides a lower-resistance option to copper, to more efficiently operate HVAC devices, over long cable runs.
Our Thermostat Wire is currently available in a solid, bare, CCA diameter of 16 AWG, offered as annealed, with 10% copper volume. Copperweld offers a wide variety of reel sizes, material and options.
As an alternative to copper, CCA can now be used for HVAC thermostat application per UL 13. Copperweld CCA offers thermostat wire manufacturers a lighter-weight, lower-resistance option.
